Father, Father give us hope
That soon you’ll bring us peace
Wipe the tears that flood our hearts
And make our fearing cease
I can’t drown out the children’s cries
The mother’s mournful sobs
All the things that life holds dear
This war completely robs
I wish there was more that I could do
Than watch the news and pray
God hold those accountable
For destroying what you have made
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven
On earth as it is in Heaven

I find christians, particularly evangelicals, have a strong escapism mentality. They long and wait for either their death or the beloved second coming, so that they may finally be with Christ in heaven. Perhaps, heaven is already here? It may be that Christ has already returned? It may be that God needs our help bring the kingdom about in the here and now. No more waiting. We must take responsibility for the here and now. May our eyes be opened so that we may see, and ears so that we may hear. May we realize that we are in the ever constant presence of Christ.
